On the 23rd of March, 2016, poachers’ cache with 225 kg of sturgeon and 36 Caspian seal furs was found near the village of Novo-Terechnoye in Kizlyarsky District of Dagestan, Russia. Its owners were not found as usual. (http://zkturr.ru/news/2016-03-25-1919). Such news is not rare; a lot of information similar to it even does not get into media. As well as reports of dead seals, which the Caspian Sea regularly casts ashore now. We are accused of alarmism, they say, everything is all right, just think…some seals, there is nothing to be worried about, and somebody, who should do it, will solve the problem - we always want someone to solve problems instead of us. So, everything is not all right. And for a long time. A little more time - and it will be very bad. There is no one to solve this problem. There are only you and we to. Look at the photo taken by V. Slodkevich and M. Khrisanova on Maly Zhemchuzhny Island, in the Northern Caspian - this is poachers’ fishing net... Sign the petition, friends, urge your friends and readers to do it! Do something, at least a little bit! This problem should not be suppressed. To save the Caspian seal is to save the Caspian.
