Nel panorama sportivo italiano, il curling avrebbe dovuto brillare per la preparazione dei suoi atleti e per i successi raggiunti, ma purtroppo in questi giorni è finito sotto i riflettori per motivi ben più tristi. L'attenzione non è stata catalizzata dalle prossime Olimpiadi Milano - Cortina 2026 , bensì da articoli, interviste e testimonianze che rivelano un sistema più scivoloso del ghiaccio su cui si gioca. A finire nel mirino è soprattutto il Direttore Tecnico della Nazionale FISG — una figura che dovrebbe rappresentare i valori olimpici, la correttezza sportiva e la massima trasparenza. Valori che oggi, purtroppo, appaiono messi seriamente in discussione per un cambio di una atleta dell'ultimo minuto, con un ipotetico danno d’immagine pesante per il curling italiano, in Patria e all’estero. 

È giunto il momento di cambiare rotta e di riportare la trasparenza, il merito e il rispetto al centro del curling italiano. Non si può continuare a navigare in un sistema a quanto pare, offuscato da simpatie personali, valutazioni poco trasparenti e criteri di selezione avvolti nella nebbia. La Federazione del Ghiaccio e il CONI devono impegnarsi a far rispettare i regolamenti e a portare in campo la correttezza e l'integrità che il nostro sport merita.

Chiediamo alla Federazione e al CONI di assicurare un attento rispetto del codice etico, dell'equità e del merito nelle selezioni e nelle decisioni. È cruciale che ogni decisione si basi su dati oggettivi e sui meriti acquisiti sul campo, e non su legami personali o favoritismi vietati dal codice etico sportivo.

In the Italian sports scene, curling should have shone with the preparation of its athletes and the successes achieved, but unfortunately in recent days it has ended up in the spotlight for much sadder reasons. Attention has not been catalyzed by the upcoming Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics, but rather by articles, interviews, and testimonies that reveal a more slippery system than the ice on which the game is played. The one who ends up in the crosshairs is above all the Technical Director of the FISG national team — a figure who should represent Olympic values, sporting correctness and maximum transparency. Values that today, unfortunately, appear to be seriously called into question due to a last-minute change of athlete, with a hypothetical damage to the image of Italian curling, both at home and abroad. 

It's time to change course and bring transparency, merit, and respect back to the heart of Italian curling. You can't continue navigating a system that appears to be clouded by personal sympathies, opaque ratings, and fog-shrouded selection criteria. The Ice Federation and CONI must commit to enforcing the regulations and bringing to the field the correctness and integrity that our sport deserves.

We ask the Federation and CONI to ensure careful respect for the code of ethics, fairness and merit in selections and decisions. It is crucial that every decision be based on objective data and merits acquired on the field, and not on personal ties or favoritism prohibited by the sports code of ethics.
