Ohio K-12 students back to 5 days a week of in school instruction starting Fall 2020.
The Issue
Our kids needs to be back in school in the fall 5 days a week. Hybrid learning is not conducive to this wide age range of students. Many students are struggling with the at home learning right now as I am writing this. Many parents are as well. Although we may have degrees in various things many of us do not have degrees in education. Many parents are working or will be going back to work soon. A hybrid of any method is not feasible for many to continue to do long-term. Many teachers are also parents and cannot be in two places at once if they have children supposed to be at home while they are at school teaching.
It would be a blow to the education of our young to go this route. If they must insist on masks- encourage teachers and as many students to wear masks as long as possible if this means they can go back to school five days a week.
They need the in school instruction. Kids need to be socialized with other kids. They need their teachers to have that balance that they can continue to thrive on and grow. It is not fair for the government to guide the kids in the wrong direction by inhibiting their future by damaging their education. There should NOT cut expenses on children’s education. What kind of message is this to cut education? No cutting corners. They are our future and I would like to see all the tools and resources and in school instruction being utilized to keep them being adequately prepared.
If children are able to go two days a week then they should be able to attend five days a week. Exposure is already there.
Talks of childcare for the working parents. If kids can be in childcare then they can go to school.
If people can go to work then kids can go to school.
If NFL can plan ahead as scheduled with their season, kids can be in school.
The list of this can go on and on but the main bottom line is kids need to be back in school the full amount of days.
Those that are too afraid can always withdraw and solely homeschool if they choose to do so.
Please do not let government have a negative impact on our children.
