Convert LaGuardia Landing Lights Field into a Synthetic Turf Multi-Purpose Field

Convert LaGuardia Landing Lights Field into a Synthetic Turf Multi-Purpose Field
The Issue
Our story is driven by dedication and allegiance to our cherished playground - LaGuardia Landing Lights field, where our organization's founding members have spent the last 10 years nurturing community bonds through our sports activities. We have made every effort to maintain the utmost hygiene and cleanliness for the field but are struggling to overcome the challenges of this current uneven field. What was once lush grass, is now more a mixture of dirt, dust, and sand.
A significant concern that has been plaguing us immensely, are the dogs that frequent the field, digging up holes in the ground and leaving behind dog waste. Our determination has held strong all these years, with us devoting time before each session, to clean up after them. However, we feel it is time to find a longer-term and more sustainable solution to this predicament.
East Elmhurst has seen a significant increase in soccer enthusiasts in recent years. Turning LaGuardia Landing Lights field into a Synthetic Turf Multi-Purpose Field would dramatically enhance the quality of play for every soccer lover in our community. Moreover, it eliminates the issues caused by dogs since synthetic turf is more durable, low-maintenance, and does not facilitate digging. Something similar is happening at Hellen Marshal Playground, also in East Elmhurst.
In light of the above issues, we heartily urge you to lend us your support in our campaign to convert the field at LaGuardia Landing Lights into a Synthetic Turf Multi-Purpose Field. Consider this not only as a practical solution to our current problems but a testament to the spirit of sport and community in East Elmhurst. Please sign the petition and help us bring this goal to the community.
