Grant Justice for Solomon Hereford - Botched Death Investigation in Detroit, MI
The Issue
Solomon Hereford was reported deceased on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He was found in his bedroom in the basement of the home he shared with other family members. Unfortunately, he'd died on the evening of Monday, October 10, 2022 and lay in the basement ALONE for at least two whole days!!
The death was reported as self harm via gunshot wound. Solomon was not suicidal and did not have a history of mental illness. Furthermore, he had his clothes packed in the trunk of his car. The Detroit Police and Wayne County Medical Examiner, Lokman Sung, has ruled his death a suicide even going as far to say that Solomon was "physically fit" (repeatedly) and therefore was capable of shooting himself at close range from behind! The Michigan Attorney General's office (per deputy general, Philip Jacques) has provided misleading (dis)information, directing us to the Michigan State Police to request an independent review. Upon contacting the Michigan State Police, we were informed that in order for them to proceed, the Attorney General's office would have to give that order. The city of Detroit's Office of the Chief Investigator informed us that the Detroit Police Homicide Leadership refuses to reopen the case (and conduct a thorough investigation). We have reviewed the OCI records in its entirety and found evidence of conflicting statements and accounts amongst the Detroit Police Officers who were on the scene and assigned to the death investigation!
Solomon Hereford was shot from behind in the back of his head. Besides that jarring fact (which is incredibly inconsistent with self harm), there are many additional troubling facts and inconsistencies contained within the official autopsy report, police report, 911 dispatch documents and official death scene photos (of which there are more than 25). Please sign this petition to get JUSTICE for Soli! Demand that law enforcement conduct a REAL and thorough investigation of Solomon Hereford's death. Thank you
