Liberare questi animali nati e cresciuti in cattività, equivale a condannarli a morte.

La colomba bianca è un animale che in natura non esiste, essendo il risultato di un processo di selezione dell'uomo. Questi volatili non conoscono le dinamiche naturali: disorientate da un ambiente che ignorano, non sono in grado di riconoscere i predatori e non possono contare sul mimetismo - vista la loro colorazione bianca. Sono quindi incapaci di riconoscere e di sfuggire da situazioni di pericolo e diventano una facile preda. I gabbiani e le cornacchie essendo predatori, hanno solo svolto il loro ruolo biologico, ma quello che è avvenuto non si può paragonare a ciò che avviene in natura, perché, mentre gli animali selvatici hanno delle strategie per sopravvivere nell'ambiente, queste colombe ne sono totalmente prive.

Sappiamo che il Pontefice si è dichiarato sensibile alla tutela dell'ambiente e delle creature che lo condividono con noi, e che ha in progetto un'enciclica dedicata proprio al Creato e alla difesa della natura. Un'enciclica nella quale chiediamo con tutto il cuore che Sua Santità inviti tutti i credenti a considerare gli animali quali esseri senzienti che condividono con gli umani il dolore, la paura, le necessità, prima fra tutte quella di essere sottratti alla crudeltà ed alle prevaricazioni da sempre perpetrate contro i deboli, umani e non.

We appeal to His Holiness: please don't free again "domestic" doves. They are destined to a certain death, be a spokesman for a message of love and respect for all animals ! Releasing these animals born and raised in captivity, means to condemn them to death. The white dove is an animal that does not exist in nature , being the result of a selection process of man. These birds do not know the dynamics of nature and are disoriented by an environment that they ignore, they are not able to recognize predators and can not rely on mimicry - because of their white color. They aren't therefore able to recognize and escape from danger and they become an easy prey . Gulls and crows being predators, they only played their biological role, but what happened can't be compared to what happens in nature, because while wild animals have strategies to survive in the environment, the doves are devoid of this knowledge. We know that the Pope said he is sensitive to the protection of the environment and the creatures that share it with us, and that he is planning an encyclical dedicated precisely to the creation and defense of nature. An encyclical in which we ask with all our heart that His Holiness calls all believers to consider animals as sentient beings who share with humans the pain , the fear , the need , first of all to be protected from the cruelty and the abuse always perpetrated against the weak , human or otherwise.
