Compel McDonald's to Offer Gluten-Free Burgers in the UK
The Issue
Being a coeliac sufferer for the past eight years hasn't been easy for me, mainly because I miss devouring a McDonald's burger. Travelling to another country just to enjoy a burger at McDonald's highlights the gap in the menu here in the UK. This petition seeks to change that.
It has come to my attention that McDonald's in countries like Finland and Spain already offers gluten-free options, making their meals inclusive and accessible to their diverse multitude of customers. Considering that there are around 1 million people diagnosed with coeliac disease in the UK, according to Coeliac UK, it is only fair that McDonald’s here follows suit, thereby catering to this fairly large demographic.
This change would significantly improve the dining out experience for many individuals with dietary restrictions, making dining out less stressful and more enjoyable. Moreover, it would also lead to business growth for McDonald's, given the increasing demand for gluten-free options.
It's time we place equal emphasis on every customer’s dietary needs. By initiating this necessary change, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a McDonald's burger. Please join me in urging McDonald's to make their menu truly inclusive and representative of everyone's needs. Sign the petition today and make Food for All a reality.
About me
Having been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease over 8 years ago but also suffering from symptoms for about 30 years, I decided to take action. A few years back, I launched a Facebook group to help fellow gluten-free diners in Milton Keynes find the best places to eat. The group quickly became a little sensation. Encouraged by this success, I created another group for the Northampton area a couple of years later. Both groups have become a useful resource for people searching for gluten-free dining options in their respective areas.
Recently, I took a bold step to expand even further and launched The GF Table UK. My mission? To share my journey, experiences, and insights on living a gluten-free lifestyle and to help others navigate their own paths with ease.
