FIFA Football unites billions of people across borders and cultures. These individuals cherish peace, unity, and a joy in wholesome international competition.

The inaugural "FIFA Peace Prize" was awarded without consultation with fans and greeted by profound disillusionment.

The FIFA Peace Prize reflects the values of the global football community. Each award is an opportunity to honour individuals or organizations embodying the common values of 3.5 billion fans across 211 national football bodies.

Relying on evaluations of fans themselves, FIFA would ensure that this annual award meets two core objectives:

1) enhance the integrity of this annual recognition of global peacemakers, and

2) respect the guidance of the billions who are at the heart of the "beautiful game'". 

3.5 billion fans have  a vested interest in the way FIFA conducts its affairs, especially on a rare award that symbolizes their respect and care for the sport.

The cost of this proposal is minimal in the context of FIFA's annual revenues.

We propose a transparent, democratic consultation with FIFA's vast fan base to identify and guide the selection of worthy recipients of the FIFA Peace Prize.

An annual online global survey would engage football fans through their clubs and national associations. Every corner of the football-loving community would contribute direct fan-input to determine the recipient of this prestigious award.

This fan-centric process legitimizes the award, honours the recipient, and respects the FIFA ethos.

Sign this petition to FIFA's Governing Body to suspend their procedures until they develop a transparent, inclusive process for awarding the FIFA Peace Prize.
