This is important, as in India, the marking system of various universities differ from each other. Some universities are lenient in giving marks, while some give marks conservatively in graduation courses. Also, there is also a difference in marking system for various stream. Generally, Science or Engineering Stream candidates get good marks, while, Art students do not get marks similar to their science/engineering counterparts. So, keeping marks at 60% for filling vacancies, will create a dis-balance in the level playing field for candidates.
