John Bryant, CEO of Kellogg's USA: Use traceable sustainable palm oil only !

    1. Petition by

Consumer Action for Sustainable Palm Oil

Kellogg's uses palm oil in their breakfast cereals and is making up for the destruction from palm oil by using Greenpalm Certificates.

Millions of these certificates have been sold and yet the forests continue to disappear to palm oil. Palm oil industry insiders have even called Greenpalm certificates a greenwash that hurts the palm oil companies that are trying to be more sustainable.

Kellogg's only two choices. If they want to continue using palm oil, they must use traceable palm oil where they can confirm that it did not kill orangutans or cause global warming excessively OR drop the use of palm oil. Using Greenpalm certificates to try and cover up their palm oil use is NOT an option!

Please send a message to Kellogg's CEO today and tell them to either stop using palm oil or make sure it comes from traceable sustainable sources !!

I live in a region that is directly affected by large-scale deforestation for oil palm plantations. I understand that palm oil is an important and widely-used ingredient in many products on the shelf that we depend on. But it is big corporations like the one you work with, that can drive palm oil suppliers to shift their practice and operate more sustainably for the benefit of the local and regional community, as well as the local forest ecology. Deforestation and unsustainable palm oil practices affects not only the local community but also those around the region in the form of air and water pollution. Globally, deforestation in tropical and peat soils are releasing huge amounts of stored carbon, exacerbating global warming and climate change.

Please sir, take some time to understand the larger social and environmental impacts that a decision by a large corporation like Kellogg's can have. Your team's decision will affect my community and future generations who will inherit the world we leave behind. I urge you to leave behind a legacy at Kellogg's that can potentially shift the paradigm of corporate sustainability to a new level that others can follow.

      Thank you.

I have been a Kellogge stock holder for 25 years and am appalled to hear that your business practices are supporting deforestation. Please change course, or know I will no longer own your stock.

      Thank you!
