Stop Torturing Rabbits In Cemetery

The issue

Unfortunately, it’s that time of year again when the Williamstown Cemetery in Melbourne, Australia, is using Pindone poison to reduce the wild rabbit population in the area.

Pindone, which is banned in some countries, is a very cruel way to kill any animal. It works in the same way as Warfarin, reducing the vitamin K and causing the blood to thin out.  As a result, these rabbits bleed to death, a very slow and painful way to die which can last up to two weeks.

It's also a danger to our ecosystem given that other animals might eat the poisoned rabbits and also die of poisoning.

Please sign and share this petition urging the minister for the environment to find another solution.
