The foundation of any democracy is trust, trust in the institutions and trust in the individuals who manage those institutions. Recently, the aforementioned trust has been shaken by the actions of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the leadership of Elon Musk. It’s personal because it affects our wider community and our faith in federal regulatory bodies. 

Musk has been closing entire federal agencies based on what has so far amounted to hearsay. There is often a lack of evidence or even substantiation to support the claims of waste, fraud, and abuse he cites as his reasoning. This has serious implications not just for the agencies involved, but for the faith citizens have in our democracy.

We demand that DOGE produce verifiable evidence supporting each claim made thus far with each itemized under the categories of said "waste", "fraud", and "abuse". Transparency is the cornerstone of ethical governance, as established by the Transparency International's guidelines. We insist upon this evidence being clearly itemized and presented to the nation by March 1st, 2025. If these requirements cannot be met, then Musk should tender his resignation.
