Vivian A. Jones has been the Mayor of Wake Forest, North Carolina, since 2001, making her the town's longest-serving mayor. Before her mayoral tenure, she served on the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners from 1999 to 2001. Jones co-owned Jovi’s Kitchen & Market from 1991 to 2003 and worked at Variety Wholesalers, Inc. from 1981 to 1992. She attended the Woman’s College of UNC (now UNC-Greensboro) from 1961 to 1962. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to community development, transportation improvements, and cultural enrichment. Notably, she was instrumental in establishing local bus services in 2008 and acquiring the Renaissance Centre to enhance cultural arts programs. Jones has also been involved with organizations such as the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the GoTriangle Board of Trustees.
