Vito John Fossella Jr. is an American politician currently serving as the Staten Island Borough President, a position he has held since 2022. A member of the Republican Party, Fossella has a long history in public service, notably representing New York's 13th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2009. He was the sole Republican representative from New York City during his tenure. Born and raised in Staten Island, Fossella first assumed office after winning a special election to succeed Susan Molinari. His educational background includes a Juris Doctor from Fordham University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Beyond politics, he has worked as a Senior Vice President at RTR Financial Services, Inc., and has diverse interests as a violinist, disc jockey, and percussionist.
