Tom McMillin is an American politician and a prominent member of the Republican Party. He currently serves on the Michigan State Board of Education and has had an extensive political career in Michigan. McMillin represented the 45th State House District, centered in Rochester Hills, from 2009 to 2014. Prior to his tenure in the State House, he served as the mayor of Auburn Hills and was a member of the Oakland County Commission. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from the University of Michigan, and a Certificate in Forensic Auditing from Central Michigan University. A certified public accountant, McMillin has owned several businesses, including Next Level CFO Services and Michigan Community Auditors, PLLC. Known for his conservative positions, he has opposed the Royal Oak gay rights ordinance and supported traditional marriage definitions.
