Dr. Sharon Latten Clark is an elected official serving on the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) as the representative for District 2. Appointed in 2023, she has a distinguished career in public education, currently serving as the Charter Director of Sophie B. Wright High School in New Orleans. Dr. Clark began her career as a para-educator and English teacher and has held various leadership roles, including Assistant Principal in Phoenix, Arizona. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Xavier University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of New Orleans. A Democrat, she is committed to improving educational opportunities and advocating for students' needs across Louisiana's public school system.
