Shanique Davis Speight is an American Democratic Party politician serving as a representative of the 29th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2018. She succeeded Blonnie R. Watson, who chose not to seek reelection. Since 2022, she has held the position of Deputy Parliamentarian in the Assembly. Speight has been continuously serving in the Assembly in various capacities since she first assumed office in 2018. Her professional experience includes roles such as an officer at the Essex County Sheriff’s Office and as a legislative aide to Senator M. Teresa Ruiz. Academically, she holds a Master's degree in Human Services from Lincoln University.
