Michael E. Spitzer is a Tennessee Circuit Court Judge who served in the 21st Judicial District before becoming the first Circuit Judge of the newly created 32nd Judicial District. He was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam in September 2018 to fill a new judgeship in the 21st Judicial District, which includes Hickman, Lewis, Perry, and Williamson counties. Following judicial district realignments, he became the presiding judge for the 32nd Judicial District, which includes Perry, Lewis, and Hickman counties. Spitzer began his professional life as a schoolteacher and principal in the Lewis County school system. He later earned his law degree from Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis) and started practicing law in 1983.
