Lisa Yvette Calderon is an American politician serving in the California State Assembly as a member of the Democratic Party. She represents the 56th Assembly District, which includes the Gateway Cities and parts of the San Gabriel Valley, such as Whittier, South El Monte, and Hacienda Heights. Calderon announced her candidacy in December 2019, following the retirement of her stepson, Ian Calderon, and assumed office in 2020. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Sacramento State University. Her career includes roles such as Assemblymember for District 56, owner of a small business, legislative aide, server in the Office of Majority Services at the California State Assembly, and Government Affairs Manager at Edison International.
