Free Ahed Tamimi
My name is Nasri Akil from Toronto, Canada. I started this campaign to support" Ahed Tamimi", her mother "Mariam", her cousin "Nur" and the other kids detained by the evil hands of the Zionists of the fake state of Israel. In a desperate hope to get enough signature to put pressure on decision makers to do something about the constant twisted detention of Palestinian kids. In turn this will expose the evil of the zionists and pressure the international community. I would like to mention here that this petition has nothing to do with race or religion or ethnicity. It's pure right against wrong. Zionism is not Judaism. Judaism is a religion not a race. Many Jews are not Zionists. Most Zionists are not Jews. Many Zionists hate Jews. Opposition to Israel is NOT anti-Semitism. Ahed Tamimi, 16, was arrested ( kidnapped actually ) by Israeli forces in the middle of the night. Since she was a young child, she has been active in weekly demonstrations against Israel’s theft of her family’s land in occupied Nabi Saleh. But as Tamimi stands against Israeli occupation, she underscores: whenever a people face oppression, we must show solidarity. Israeli soldiers shot Ahed Tamimi's relative in the head, leaving the teenage boy in a coma, and then invaded her family home. She demanded that the occupying Israeli soldiers leave her property immediately, shouting "don't touch me" and "leave!" Now she's in Israeli military detention, where 75% of Palestinian children report assault. Ahed is a child, and like thousands of Palestinian children she could be humiliated and abused if we don't get her out fast. She has become another child statistic of the countless other children detained illegally in Israel. Her court date is December 25th, 2017. She was taken into question at the Moscobiyeh prison, notorious for it's dungeon cell, torture tactics fully utilized on children, and extensive harassment. She was put in isolation, left in an icy cell, without proper food. In fives days she was moved three times. Why? To exhaust and break her. When her mother arrived to be there with her, she too was arrested. We demand that Ahed and all Palestinian children are released from Israeli prisons now. The international community must put an end to the ill-treatment and detention of Palestinian children. Enough is enough. Ahed Tamimi represent all the innocent kids in the Isareli detention and represent the Palestinians struggle against the illegal occupation of Palestine. Since 1967, Palestinian children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory have been living under Israeli military law and prosecuted in military courts. Israeli military law, which fails to ensure and denies basic and fundamental rights, is applied to the whole Palestinian population. Israel is the only country in the world that automatically prosecutes children in military courts that lack basic and fundamental fair trial guarantees. Since 2000, at least 8,000 Palestinian children have been arrested and prosecuted in an Israeli military detention system notorious for the systematic ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children. Around 500-700 Palestinian children are arrested, detained and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system each year. The majority of Palestinian child detainees are charged with throwing stones, and three out of four experience physical violence during arrest, transfer or interrogation. Unlike Israeli children living in illegal settlements in the West Bank, Palestinian children are not accompanied by a parent and are generally interrogated without the benefit of legal advice, or being informed of their right. They are overwhelmingly accused of throwing stones, an offense that can lead to a potential maximum sentence of 10 to 20 years depending on a child’s age. AHED TAMIMI will go to trial on Christmas Day for slapping an Israeli soldier, illegally trespassing on her property, the day after her 15-year-old cousin was shot in the face. In December 2011, Mustafa Tamimi was killed during a protest in the village when an Israeli soldier shot him in the face with a tear gas canister. One year later, Israeli soldiers shot and killed Rashadi Tamimi in the village. One wonders why the "slap" is the Crime? I decided to do something about it and start with what I can. So that's why I am here asking you to help me help Ahed, her family and all the other kids. I also started a fund raising campaign on "GoFundMe" hoping to raise enough money to hire as many legal advisors to support Ahed and the others legaly in the court and get some justice. I mean enough is enough...I can't sleep I can't eat and these kids are experiencing all of that twist. Someone must do something. This is not right. This is not humanity. We cannot make this acceptable by doing nothing. I earnestly ask that at the very least, we make some noise in support of Ahed Tamimi and the other children that are held prisoners with no charge, no defense, all in violation of international laws. She is one, but we are many. It takes a united front to add pressure, to induce accountability and hopefully give freedom to the oppressed, weak and innocent. To Ahed and all the children in Israeli jails: We stand by your side, and are holding you in our hearts. We will not give up until you are free. You are not alone. As a wise man ounce said: "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible" Sign. Support. Make Noise. Add Pressure. Be Human. what if Ahed was your daughter, sister or just a friend? What would you do?
Provision of Skywalks for Pedestrians on ORR using Namma Metro Infra in Bengaluru
The Managing Director BMRCL, BMTC Complex,Shantinagar Bengaluru The Commissioner BBMP, Hudson CircleBengaluru Sir, Namma Metro in Bengaluru is expanding its coverage . Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) as part of its Expansion in Bengaluru has proposed a new line of 17 kms from Silk Board to KR Puram under Phase II (A). This network would pass through the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and thus would provide convenient access for commuters to companies and residential areas located on this stretch. This is the first stretch which is being funded under the corporate funding policy in the country. The ORR is one of the fastest growing commercial space in India . The stretch of ORR from Hebbal to Silk board also connects two important National Highways viz Bellary road and Chennai road which form part of the Golden Quadrilateral Highway network . Thus this stretch witnesses heavy traffic in Terms of lorries , multi axle container trucks in addition to city traffic as no alternative road exists for them to bypass Bengaluru, as the proposed Peripheral Ring Road is still yet to be constructed. It is a challenge for pedestrians to cross this road. Namma metro has proposed that the metro would be built on the median of ORR and a total of 13 stations would come up on this stretch with interchanges at Silk Board and KR Puram . The stations would have facilities like stair cases and elevators ; metro commuters would be able to exit the stations to either side of the ORR in a convenient manner (DPR 4.1.14) . A connecting bridge too would be provided for interchange of commuters from one platform to another platform as part of the facilities to the commuters. The cost of the project Is envisaged to be Rs 4200 Crores. It is pertinent to note that this 18 km stretch of ORR has just one skywalk at RMZ Ecospace for pedestrians to cross this ever busy stretch. Pedestrians have a harrowing time to cross the ORR in absence of proper facilities . The lack of facilities has also been acknowledged by officials and government authorities. Many deaths have been reported and the recent tragic death of Sanjay in Bellandur was widely reported and the proactive approach of citizens has culminated in the sanction of a skywalk which would interconnect with the proposed metro . Similar request for skywalks by the students of New Horizon College of engineering is also pertinent . BMRCL has proposed to incorporate suitable changes in the design and thus have a walkway limited to connecting three stations Kadubeesanahalli, Kodibisanahalli and Bellandur allowing access for pedestrians which is a proactive step for the safety of pedestrians in this area. However, excepting these three stations there is no plan for providing safe access for pedestrians to cross the ORR at other locations. Also BBMP has not planned for any skywalks on this stretch of ORR. It is pertinent to mention that BBMP has been proactively working with BMRCL in addressing commuter problems . BBMP has provided funding of Rs 100 crores for construction of new flyover from Ragi Gudda to Silk Board which is being implemented by BMRCL at a cost of Rs 800 Crore along with Line 5 of Phase II. Thus vehicular traffic which was blocked at silk board would now flow Smoothly onto ORR at increased speeds. This would further put pedestrians at risk on ORR beyond Silkboard. The Solution The station design and construction of all metro stations on the proposed line on ORR be taken up in a holistic manner so that non commuter pedestrians too can access the metro facility to cross the ORR safely at the station location which are 1 km apart. This would thus provide incentive to citizens to safely access public transport and offices on ORR as a last mile link. BBMP can partner with BMRCL for construction of skywalks / walkways or any other suitable mechanism and integrate with the station design of metro line on ORR thus providing safe access to pedestrians to cross the ORR. BBMP can pool funds as has been done for flyover from Ragigudda to Silkboard. Further the system of skywalks and walkways should be integrated with the metro stations in all future construction of Bengaluru metro so as to provide easy access for both commuters and pedestrians to cross the arterial roads safely. I appeal to everyone to sign this petition to impress upon the BBMP, BMRCL and GoK to provide facility of pedestrian skywalks integrated with the stations in the ORR line of Bangalore Metro so as to help pedestrians to cross ORR safely . Further these facilities should be provided as a standard operating procedure across ALL future metro constructions in Bangalore . No one should have to lose a loved one under the circumstances of crossing a road. Request prompt fixing of bellandur roads
We are writing to draw your urgent attention to the rapidly deteriorating state of internal and service roads in Bellandur area, housing more than 100,000 residents & equal number of office going people. Lakhs of people live here, and lakhs more come to work in and around Bellandur. There has been significant growth in the number of households in the last 10 years. Despite this, the state of internal roads of bellandur residential communities are in bad shape. Even the service roads along Bellandur - ORR corridor are full of potholes and are in disastrous shape. There is no place to walk, let alone drive. Drains are open or overflow with sewage. This has seriously deteriorated mobility and have adversely affected commute time for both employees of the numerous companies and the daily wage workers who can least afford it. All residents in this area are suffering due to rise in pollution, overcrowding and traffic congestion. Children are frequently stuck in jams and return home tired. It is scary to think the effect the pollution has on their growing bodies. Cases of asthma and allergic cough are quite common.ORR companies contributed about Rs 100 Cr property tax last year to the state govt. But there has been spends worth only Rs 5 Cr in the last few years. As one of the highest tax payer constituency in Bangalore, we are furious with this poor report card. We should hold our elected officials such as the corporator and the MLA responsible. We deserve to have better quality of life and better infrastructure in the near future. WE DEMAND ACTION NOW!With immediate effect:- Lay new roads in internal and service roads of Bellandur.- Build proper footpaths and drainages. PS: This petition is an offshoot of a previous petition https://www.change.org/p/k-j-george-order-immediate-fix-of-infrastructure-issues-in-bellandur which although is closed, has not solved our seemingly perennial problems in Bellandur.
Open U turn on Inner Ring Road during non peak hours
The first U turn available on Inner Ring Road in Domlur Layout is 1.5 km from Old Airport Road start. This results in immense inconvenience for people living on both sides of Inner Ring Road. There were three U turns in the same stretch before and Bangalore Traffic Police closed them to manage peak hour traffic. While the residents alongside Inner Ring Road understand the need of managing traffic there is no justification in not allowing U turn during non peak hours and holidays. It is foolish to make people take 3 KM round trip just to cross road when there is hardly any person on the road on holidays. This results in rampant reverse traffic of two and three wheelers endangering the pedestrians. Numerous senior citizens have been injured by two and three wheelers who ply on wrong side of road. Our demand Please open U turn/s on Inner Ring Road during non peak hours and holidays. Similar arrangement exist on HAL airport road under the flyover. Please use the same logic for Inner Ring Road Benefits Significant fuel saving due to reduction in non productive 3 Km U turn trips. Reduction in pollution Pedestrian safety
