Valenzuela serves as the Councilmember for District 4 on the Sacramento City Council, where she focuses on local governance and community issues. Her extensive experience includes roles such as Policy & Political Director at the California Environmental Justice Alliance and Capitol Director at the California State Assembly. She has also contributed as Principal Consultant at the California State Legislature and managed health advocacy programs at Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails. Valenzuela is the Principal at Valenzuela Garcia Consulting, reflecting her commitment to environmental justice and community development.
