Kathy Ellen Manning is an American lawyer and politician from North Carolina, currently serving as the representative for the state's 6th congressional district. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, her district encompasses the Piedmont Triad, including cities such as Greensboro and most of Winston-Salem. Manning first ran for Congress in 2018 as the nominee for North Carolina's 13th congressional district. She successfully won a seat in the 6th district in 2020 following court-ordered redistricting. Manning has been serving in the United States House of Representatives since 2021. Academically, she holds a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan. Her professional background includes roles as a partner at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP and Manning and Associates PLLC.
