Kasim Reed is an American attorney and politician recognized for his two-term stint as the 59th Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia from 2010 to 2018. From overseeing major redevelopment projects to investing in public safety initiatives, Reed sought to cultivate Atlanta as a prosperous global city. He is an active member of the Democratic Party and previously served as a Georgia State Senator from 2003 to 2009. Raised in Atlanta, Reed received his Bachelor's in 1991 and his Juris Doctor in 1995 from Howard University. Reed's blend of legal acumen and political savvy has made him a prominent figure in Georgia politics.
