Julie Virginia Mayfield is an American attorney and Democratic politician currently serving as a member of the North Carolina Senate from the 49th district, a position she has held since 2021. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Religion from Davidson College and a JD in Environmental and International Law from Emory University. Mayfield has a diverse career background, having served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Co-Director at MountainTrue, and as an Associate at Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP. She also clerked for Chief Judge Robert Castellani at DeKalb County. Her leadership roles include Vice President and General Counsel at the Georgia Conservancy and serving as a Councilmember on the Asheville City Council.
