John Kefalas

John Michael Kefalas is an American politician and educator based in Colorado. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Kefalas began his political career after working as a teacher and lobbyist. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a Master’s in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Kefalas first entered the political arena in 2004 and won a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives in 2006, defeating a Republican incumbent. In 2012, he was elected to the Colorado State Senate, representing District 14 until 2019. He then successfully ran for the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners in 2018, necessitating his resignation from the Senate. Joann Ginal was appointed to fill his Senate seat.
