John Hoeven is an American politician and member of the Republican Party, currently serving as the senior U.S. Senator from North Dakota since 2011. He previously held the position of governor of North Dakota from 2000 to 2010. Hoeven earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College in 1979 and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University in 1981. Before entering politics, he was the president and CEO of the Bank of North Dakota, where he oversaw significant growth. In the Senate, Hoeven focuses on agricultural and energy issues, advocating for policies that promote economic growth and job creation. He is known for his leadership in advancing the Keystone XL pipeline project and supporting comprehensive energy development initiatives
