Jessica Ramos is a Colombian-American politician and community organizer, currently serving as a New York State Senator for District 13, which encompasses the Queens neighborhoods of Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights. A member of the Democratic Party, Ramos has held office since 2019. With a Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University, she began her career in communications, working as a Communications Specialist and Coordinator at 32BJ SEIU. Ramos also served as Director of Latino Media for the City of New York and was a Communications Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives. Her extensive experience in communications and community advocacy underscores her commitment to public service and her constituents.
