James E. Solomon is an accomplished American engineer, entrepreneur, and public servant. He is renowned for founding several companies, including one that merged to form Cadence Design Systems, a prominent chip manufacturing toolmaker. As an innovator in integrated chip design, Solomon holds 23 patents and has been recognized as an IEEE Fellow. His contributions to the field earned him the prestigious Phil Kaufman Award in 1997. Academically, Solomon possesses a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy from Pomona College and a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
