He earned his high school diploma from Surry Central High School and pursued a Certificate in Law Enforcement from Wilkes Community College. Shores has served his community and country in various significant roles. As a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, he demonstrated commitment and discipline. His career in law enforcement includes notable experience as a Master Police Officer II with the Thomasville Police Department, where he honed his skills in public safety and community interaction. Further expanding his leadership experience, Shores served as Chief at the Thomasville Rescue Squad and as a Commissioner in Davidson County, contributing to the welfare and governance of the community.
