Jacob Lawrence Frey is an American politician and attorney who has been serving as the mayor of Minneapolis, Minnesota, since 2018. A dedicated member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, Frey began his political career on the Minneapolis City Council, where he served from 2014 to 2018. Before his mayoral tenure, he worked as an attorney at notable law firms such as Faegre & Benson LLP and Halunen & Associates. Frey holds a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University, which laid the foundation for his legal and political career. As mayor, he has focused on issues including affordable housing, policing reforms, and community engagement, striving to address the diverse needs of Minneapolis residents.
