Hugh Allen Blackwell is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 86, which encompasses part of Burke County. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Blackwell has a distinguished academic background, having earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and an Associate's degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Beyond his legislative role, Blackwell is deeply involved in his community, serving on the board of trustees for Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton and previously as a member and vice chairman of the Burke County Board of Education. Professionally, he is a partner at the law firm Mitchell, Blackwell, and Mitchell in Valdese and has served in the US Army Reserve.
