Governor J.B. Pritzker, full name Jay Robert Pritzker, took the reigns as the 43rd Governor of Illinois in January 2019. Born and raised in the state, he's a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who champions economic development, early childhood education, and healthcare. Pritzker, from the iconic business-centric Pritzker family, co-founded the Pritzker Group, a private investment firm. As Governor, he’s gained recognition for managing the COVID-19 pandemic response effectively, implementing science-based public health measures to protect Illinoisans.
