Government of Alberta
The Government of Alberta is the provincial governing body in the province of Alberta, Canada. As a constitutional monarchy, the executive authority is vested in the monarch or queen, but it is mainly exercised by the Lieutenant Governor appointed by the Governor General of Canada on behalf of the Queen. The premier, currently Jason Kenney, is the head of government and functions as the chief executive. The government is based in the provincial capital, Edmonton, and its responsibilities include health care, education, natural resources and several other sectors that directly impact the residents of Alberta. It also liaises with the federal Canadian Government to ensure the proper administration of services to the province's population.
