Gobierno de Costa Rica

The Gobierno de Costa Rica, or the Government of Costa Rica, is a democratic republic with executive, legislative, and judicial branches. At the helm of the executive branch is the President, who holds the position of both the head of state and government. The country has a multi-party system, and elections are held every four years. The legislative branch is represented by the Legislative Assembly, a unicameral body with 57 members. The Supreme Court heads the judicial branch, administering justice in a system characterized by civil law.
