Gobierno Central is a term used primarily in Spanish-speaking countries to refer to the national government that has authority and control over the entire geographical territory of a nation. Often they are situated in a nation's capital, thus the term "central," as they represent the political center of a country. A Gobierno Central manages different governmental branches, such as the executive, legislative and judicial branches and makes significant decisions on a country's foreign policy, defense, economic strategies, and national law enforcement. Their authority usually surpasses regional or provincial governments within the country.
