Françoise NYSSEN

Françoise Nyssen is a prominent Belgian-born French publishing executive and politician. Even though she was born on June 9, 1951, in Etterbeek, Belgium, she has made tremendous contributions to France’s literature and politics. In her executive role, she served as the CEO of the publishing house, Actes Sud, where she has been instrumental in its growth and development since 1987. Meanwhile, in politics, she made her mark as France’s Minister of Culture from 2017 to 2018 under President Emmanuel Macron's administration, wherein she launched numerous initiatives to promote French culture and the arts. With degrees in classical literature and urban planning, Nyssen showcases versatility and a commitment to her multifaceted career.
