EELV

The Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) program is a major United States Air Force initiative developed to ensure affordable and reliable access to space for various Department of Defense and civilian payloads. The program aims to diminish the dependence on any single launch vehicle or service provider. EELV encompasses two primary launch systems, the Delta IV and Atlas V rockets, both designed by the premier space launch companies, United Launch Alliance. Offering multiple configurations to accommodate a wide range of payload sizes and types, EELV serves national security, scientific research and international commercial ventures alike.
