Duncan Hunter is an American politician and former U.S. Representative for California's 50th congressional district, serving from 2009 to 2020. He is a member of the Republican Party. His political career is marked with controversy, including charges of misuse of campaign funds, which led to his resignation from Congress in January 2020. Hunter is also a veteran service member who served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq and Afghanistan. His father, Duncan Lee Hunter, also served as a representative in the same district from 1981 to 2009.
