Doug Collins is an American politician, attorney, and Baptist pastor. Born on August 16, 1966, he served as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 9th congressional district from 2013 to 2021. Collins, a member of the Republican Party, also served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013. Before his political career, he served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He played a prominent role in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump as one of his staunch defenders. Collins is known for his conservative stance on issues such as abortion and immigration.
