Doug Burgum is an American businessman and politician who currently serves as the 33rd Governor of North Dakota since 2016. Prior to his political career, he made a name for himself as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Great Plains Software which was later acquired by Microsoft. Under Microsoft, Burgum headed the business solutions division, working to globalize Microsoft Business Solutions. Noted for his entrepreneurial acumen, he is also the founder of Kilbourne Group, a company responsible for historic downtown revitalization projects, and Arthur Ventures, a venture capital firm.
