Deutscher Bundestag

The Deutscher Bundestag, or German Federal Parliament, is the national legislative body in Germany, known for its crucial role in passing laws and budget controls. It is located in Berlin, in the iconic Reichstag building which is notable for its contemporary glass dome symbolizing political transparency. Comprising members elected every four years by universal adult suffrage, it represents Federal Republic of Germany's multiparty political system. The Bundestag also exercises parliamentary control over the government, elects the Federal Chancellor and is involved in electing the Federal President. Therefore, it is an important institution for German democracy.
