David John Trone is an American businessman and Democratic politician who has served as the U.S. representative for Maryland's 6th congressional district since 2019. Born on September 21, 1955, Trone is an influential figure both in business and politics. He is the co-founder of Total Wine & More, a large private wine retailer in the United States, which he established with his brother, Robert Trone. Trone served as the company's president until December 2016. His congressional district encompasses much of the western third of Maryland, with a significant portion of its population residing in the northern suburbs of Washington, D.C. Trone's business acumen and political focus align under the Democratic Party, working towards legislative actions beneficial to his constituents.
