David Eugene Joyner is an American actor and attorney known for his iconic portrayal of Barney the Dinosaur from 1991 to 2001, and again in 2022. He gained widespread recognition for his role in "Barney & Friends" and its predecessor "Barney & the Backyard Gang." Joyner's television career also includes playing the title character in the children's series "Hip Hop Harry." In addition to his acting career, Joyner has an impressive academic background with a Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University and a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of North Carolina. Professionally, he has served as an Associate Attorney at The Lea/Schultz Law Firm and as an Assistant District Attorney at the North Carolina Judicial Branch.
