Darin McKay LaHood is an American attorney and politician serving as a U.S. Representative from Illinois since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, LaHood has represented the 16th district since 2023, after previously serving the 18th district from 2015 to 2023. Born in Illinois, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Loras College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He began his career as a congressional staffer from 1990 to 1994, followed by roles as a prosecutor and U.S. Attorney. LaHood served in the Illinois State Senate from 2011 to 2015. As an adjunct professor, he shares his legal and political expertise, bringing extensive experience to his role in Congress.
