The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is a regional examination board that shapes the education landscape in the Caribbean by developing, administering, and awarding various qualifications at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Founded in 1972, it aims to ensure that learners in the Caribbean community benefit from globally accepted quality education and assessment. In line with its role as a regional exam board, CXC also plays a vital role in the standardization of the education process and the development of a region-specific syllabus, which are essential for cohesive regional development and integration. A system of advance-level exams, known as CAPE, is also facilitated by CXC, making it a central pillar of Caribbean education.
