The Conselho Federal de Psicologia, often abbreviated as CFP, is the regulatory and supervisory body for psychologists in Brazil. Established in 1973, the CFP sets professional standards, issues licences to practise, and can institute disciplinary proceedings. It is also responsible for promoting and advancing psychological science and practice, as well as advocating for psychological health and well-being in Brazil. The council works to ensure that professionals maintain high ethical standards in their work and uphold the rights of their clients. Its functions and structures are detailed in Federal Law 5.766/1971. It has several regional councils, commonly referred to as CRPs, spread across various states of the country.
