Congreso Nacional de Honduras
The Congreso Nacional de Honduras, or the National Congress of Honduras, is the legislative branch of the government of Honduras. Located in the country's capital, Tegucigalpa, this bicameral institution is responsible for enacting laws, maintaining governmental checks and balances, and representing various regional interests. It is composed of the 128-member Deputy Chamber, or unicameral chamber, and its members are elected for four-year terms. In addition to its policymaking role, the Congress also holds key responsibilities, such as ratifying treaties and approving the national budget.
