Congreso de la Republica de Guatemala

The Congreso de la República de Guatemala, or the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, is the legislative body of the country. Comprised of 160 elected officials, Congress members are elected every four years concurrently with the presidential elections. The Congress is responsible for proposing, studying, and approving laws, including the nation's budget, as well as maintaining checks and balances on the powers of the other branches of government. Its decisions and actions greatly impact the political and social landscape of the country, making it a crucial pillar of Guatemala's democratic system.
