Congreso de Colombia
The Congreso de Colombia, known in English as the Congress of Colombia, is the country's national bicameral legislature. It consists of the 108-member Senate, and the 172-member Chamber of Representatives. These branches independently perform their duties in separate buildings in the capital city of Bogota. Members of both houses are elected by popular vote and serve four-year terms. The congress is responsible for various tasks including the making of laws, management of economic resources, and control over the actions of the government among others.
