Christopher Charles Pappas, born in 1980, is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Pappas has a strong background in public service and business. Before his congressional tenure, he served on the New Hampshire Executive Council from 2013 to 2019 and was a State Representative in the New Hampshire House. Pappas holds a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. Beyond politics, he is co-owner of the Puritan Backroom Restaurant, a family business. His career also includes serving as Treasurer of Hillsborough County. Pappas is known for his commitment to his constituents and his efforts to address local and national issues through bipartisan cooperation.
